Filament in the Makers Lab

The Makers Lab uses a variety of 3D printing filament, with the most common being:

  • PLA (cheap, reliable, corn based)
  • ABS (petroleum based, can be smoothed via acetone vapor bath)
  • PET-G (petroleum based, food safe)
  • PVA (water-soluble, used commonly for support structure)
  • TPU (flexible)

Contact the Makers Lab to inquire about filament and color availability.

More detailed information on a variety of filaments can be found on 3D Printing Materials Guide.
