Add a File Resource to a CLE Course

File

One of the ways to share a file with your students in the CLE is to add it to your course page as a resource. File types you can add to the CLE include PDFs, Word documents and other text files, PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, zip files, and media such as images, videos, and audio files. 

There are two options to upload a single file to the CLE.

 

Option 1: Drag and drop

  1. Go to the CLE course page, from the Gear icon at the top-right click Turn editing on.
  2. In the section where you would like the file to be added, click Add an activity or resource.
  3. In the window that appears, select the File resource type. This will take you to the settings page for the new File.
  4. Locate the file you would like to upload on your computer.
  5. Drag and drop the single file to the dashed-box in your course page.
  6. (Optional)enter a description for  the file and allow display description on the course page.
  7. Click the Save and return to course button. 

Option 2: Add a file from the file picker

  1. Go to the CLE course page, from the Gear icon at the top-right click Turn editing on.
  2. In the section where you would like to the file to be added, click Add an activity or resource.
  3. In the window that appears, select the File resource type. This will take you to the settings page for the new File.
  4. Add a Name and an optional Description.

  6. Under the file picker page, click upload file and select the designated file from your computer. File Picker
  7. Click Upload this file
  8. Click the Save and return to course button.
Upload multiple files to the CLE as a .zip file to save time. To upload multiple files at once, compress the files on your computer into a .zip file.
